On the corner of Riddarygatan 14 and Nybrogatan 9 was once located the German Baker's house, owned by Hisinger and where Berzelius lived and worked 1802-1819. Although Berzelius had other laboratories, this was his main laboratory where he conducted his most important research during the period 1809-1819 (before he moved to the Swedish Academy of Sciences building on Gamla Stan).
